Our Services
We accept self-referrals from clients, together with referrals from ENT
consultants, GPs, employers, War Pensions Department etc.
Firstly, we take a detailed medical history and discuss how communication difficulties are affecting your lifestyle. A full examination of the outer ear, ear canal and eardrums is then carried out to establish medical condition. We use the video-otoscope, a tiny camera that goes into the ear and displays resulting images on a TV monitor.

The actual hearing assessment, called Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA), takes place in a soundproofed hearing booth. The audiologist will place eartones into your ears and ask you to respond when you hear various tones at different frequencies. Each ear is tested separately. The results are then plotted by computer to create your unique hearing pattern on a chart called an audiogram. Other tests may also be carried out if necessary.
We will explain your audiogram and other results thoroughly and discuss various solutions. If hearing instruments are recommended, we can tailor a prescription to suit your hearing loss, lifestyle and budget. Included in the package is a two-year ongoing rehabilitation program, where you will be seen regularly for free ‘fine tuning’ and advice sessions.
